Who this affects

Anyone with low vision using a phone — a very large group, and one that grows as the population ages.

Why it matters

user-scalable=no or maximum-scale=1 prevents pinch-zoom, so users who need larger text simply cannot read the site on mobile. A one-line fix that is frequently copied in from old templates.

How to fix it

Remove user-scalable=no and any maximum-scale below 5 from the viewport meta tag.
